TRAINING CLASSES

Here at Waggy's Dog Training we pride ourselves on making our classes as relaxed and enjoyable as we can. We follow the Kennel Club Good Citizen Awards, where dogs and handlers are able to achieve their potential and receive certificates and rosettes.

However, as well as covering all of the Kennel Club Good Citizen Awards we offer pet dog obedience training for those owners who prefer not to have to take a test at the end of the course.  We offer additional advice and guidance in all aspects of bringing a puppy up, settling in a rehomed or rescued dog, and ensuring that both owners and dogs have the best relationship they can and a happy, enjoyable life together.

We believe that training a dog should be fun experience for all and we achieve this by adding in fun activities, such as agility taster sessions and games.  We love nothing better than to see happy and relaxed dogs and owners enjoying their training experience together.

PUPPY FOUNDATION COURSE

This course is for puppies from 8 weeks’ old up to 12 months’ old.

The Puppy Foundation course is as set by the Kennel Club and is aimed at providing not only socialisation for puppies, but to start their journey in becoming a well-mannered dog.

BRONZE GOOD CITIZEN AWARD

This Course is available to dogs or puppies of all ages, you don't have to have completed the puppy foundation course to complete the Bronze Good Citizen Award.

The Bronze Good Citizen Award is designed to achieve a well-behaved dog that is under control when on or off the lead.

Their handlers will also be given basic knowledge of understanding and training their dogs

SILVER GOOD CITIZEN AWARD

This course is available to dogs and puppies of all ages, however, you are required to have completed the Bronze Good Citizen Award before moving on to the Silver Good Citizen Award.

The Kennel Club Silver Good Citizen Award is designed to build upon skills that have been acquired in the Bronze Good Citizen Award whilst introducing more training around everyday situations such as road walk and controlled greetings.

The Silver Award is also designed to give handlers more information around training and understanding of their dogs.

GOLD GOOD CITIZEN AWARD

This Course is available to dogs and puppies of all ages, however you are required to have completed both the Bronze and Silver Good Citizen Awards prior to moving on to the Gold Good Citizen Award.

The Kennel Club’s Gold Good Citizen Award is the highest level of the scheme.

The Gold Good Citizen Award strengthens the skills acquired in the Silver Award and adds more advanced training for the dog.

This course also provides the handlers with a greater understanding of their responsibilities to their dogs and the community.
